This year, AMFA presents Breaking the Box, a journey through time unmasking the system of deception that imprisons America. Breaking the Box lifts the veil on our justice system by presenting real-life stories, flashes of memories, and music.
Part documentary theatre and part fiction, Breaking the Box features local and national impressions on race, education, and the “school-to-prison pipeline” while presenting vibrant, living snapshots that ask us how the next generation will move forward.
Each performance will conclude with a brief talk-back moderated in collaboration with Ozark Living Newspaper Theatre.
Due to the subject matter, the recommended audience age range for this program is high school students to adults.
